Resolving Integration and API Errors
Get guidance on handling errors when using API-based implementations and ensuring smooth functionality across your setup.
Integration and API errors in Widgion are usually caused by incorrect credentials, missing permissions, or configuration steps that were skipped during setup. The specific fix depends on which integration is causing the issue, but the underlying approach is the same across all of them.
Shopify
If your Shopify integration isn't working, start by verifying that your store domain is entered correctly and that your Client ID and Client Secret are valid. These credentials are essential for establishing a successful connection. Also confirm that all required permissions are enabled in your Shopify app settings and that the Widgion app is properly installed on your store.
If messages aren't coming through or your bot isn't responding on WhatsApp, check that your WhatsApp Business account is properly connected to Meta Business Manager and that all required permissions were granted during setup. If your WhatsApp number isn't showing in Widgion, confirm that your WhatsApp Business account is linked to the correct Meta Business account and that you have Admin access. If the bot isn't responding, verify that AI auto-response is enabled or that a human agent is available to reply.
Missing messages on Facebook are most often caused by incomplete permissions during the connection process. Review your Facebook integration settings and confirm that all required permissions were properly granted. If your Instagram account isn't showing, make sure it is connected to a Facebook Page and that you have Admin access to that page. If the bot isn't responding, check whether AI auto-response is enabled or whether a human agent is set to handle incoming messages.
Slack
If the Widgion bot isn't posting to your Slack channel, first check that the bot has been invited to the channel — this is especially important for private channels where bots are not added automatically. Confirm that all required permissions were approved when the integration was set up. Also verify that your notification or conversation settings are enabled in Widgion and that any trigger keywords are entered correctly and separated by commas.
Calendly
If your Calendly booking integration isn't triggering correctly, make sure your Calendly event is active and publicly accessible. Use simple, clear trigger words like "book," "schedule," or "meeting" so the chatbot can detect booking intent reliably. Keep your invitation text short and direct. After setup, test both booking modes to confirm everything works end to end before making it available to visitors.
API Implementation
If you're using Widgion's API directly and encountering errors, start by checking that your API credentials are correct and that you're using the right endpoint. Confirm that your requests include all required parameters and that your integration is referencing the correct widget ID from the Installation & API page in your dashboard.
