Resolving Widget Customization Not Applying
Understand why changes to widget appearance or settings may not reflect on your website and how to ensure updates are properly applied.
If changes you've made to your widget's appearance or settings aren't showing up on your website, the issue is almost always related to caching, publishing, or how the changes were saved.
Make Sure You Clicked Save Changes
It sounds simple, but the most common reason customization changes don't apply is that they weren't saved before leaving the page. In Widgion, changes to widget settings, including colors, fonts, launcher position, button style, and animations, only take effect after you click Save Changes. Go back to the relevant settings page, reapply your changes, and make sure you save before navigating away.
Clear Your Browser Cache
After saving changes, your browser may still be loading a cached version of your website that doesn't reflect the update. Clear your browser cache completely and do a hard reload of the page. You can also test in a private or incognito browser window, which loads a fresh version of the page without any cached data.
Check That Changes Were Made to the Right Widget
If you manage multiple widgets in Widgion, confirm that the customization changes were made to the widget that is actually installed on your website. It's easy to edit one widget while a different one is deployed. Check the widget ID on your Installation & API page and compare it to the widget you edited.
Allow Time for Changes to Propagate
In some cases, changes may take a short amount of time to propagate across your website, especially if your site uses a CDN or caching layer at the hosting level. If the changes still aren't showing after clearing your browser cache, wait a few minutes and check again. If your website uses a caching plugin, clear that cache as well.
